NexGeneration adheres to the traditional publishing concept: we assume all financial risks and all expenses related to producing, manufacturing, and publishing a book.
The author pays no publishing fees.
While you can publish an eBook to any number of platforms for free, bookstores do not put book on their shelves for free. There is work to be done and it can be a long process. We promise that we will partner with you to find success and meet your goals for your book(s).
Most Popular Questions: 1. When will I see my book in print? We print all books on a POD (print on demand) basis. This process allows us to minimize costs until we create an audience for your book(s). 2. How does my book end up in Barnes & Noble, Amazon and iTunes Bookstore? As soon as we contract a book, we issue an ISBN. At that point, we submit the book to our wholesalers and distributors, such as Ingram, who process it in their computer systems that have direct connections to bookstore computer systems nationwide. That is how a book becomes available to virtuallyall American bookstores.Beside the main online retailers, Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com, there are also many independent bookstores. By looking into the book's ISBN, they know how to order fast by ordering a book directly from the publisher or through their wholesaler (as most stores do). Finally, there are the web-based book vendors. Some order directly from the publisher, most order through a wholesaler. Please note:Bookstore availability is not necessarily the same as bookstore shelf display. For a book to be stocked by a bookstore, someone high in the hierarchy must decide to order it. Typically, it's not the store manager who makes such decisions, unless they run an independent store. Larger chains such as Barnes & Noble have "buyers" who select which titles are to be stocked. Oftentimes, they want to see some noise happening before they move. 3. What are your obligations as an Author? The most important task for an author is to deliver the completed manuscript and bio on time. In addition, we ask that authors attend all scheduled virtual and in-person book promotional events. We also expect that the author will participate in the marketing process by promoting their own books whenever possible. NexGeneration Digital Publishing also provides additional marketing services for a fee. These additional services are optional and at the author's sole discretion. 4. How do I get published? There are over 450 people searching for a publisher every day somewhere in the world. We at NexGeneration, are looking for both fiction and non-fiction books that have are well developed and has appeal to a large audience. **Currently, we are looking for authors in the romance, young adult romance, paranormal, mystery/suspense, business, and spirituality book categories. You must first submit a copy of your manuscript to us for review. If we are interested, we will contact you via phone or email to discuss the next steps in the process. 5. What exactly is NexGeneration?NexGeneration is not in any way a POD, vanity press, or subsidy publisher, and has nothing in common with them. None of our authors are being self-published. In the most commonly used context, POD indicates "Publish On Demand", or vanity publishing. Vanity publishers charge for publishing someone's book. NexGeneration does not. 6. NexGeneration is a traditional, royalty paying publisher. We charge no fees for publishing a book, ever. There's no catch, no hidden surprises. We may pay small advances to indicate our principle. The author is never, ever, under any obligation to pull their wallet to make any purchase whatsoever. We don't want their money. We want their book. All expenses involved with acquiring, producing, manufacturing, and publishing a book, and marketing it to the industry's wholesale and distribution channels for full availability through all bookstores at home and abroad are underwritten by our organization solely. 7. Our art department designs all book covers. We take author provided suggestions and ideas into serious consideration. We know our authors want quality, and we produce quality. 8. NexGeneration is only interested in obtaining a book's publishing rights. We don't want any other rights, unless an author requests that we carry them on his/her behalf. Movie rights, audio rights, TV rights, merchandising rights, the copyright, they all remain the author's. Our contracts expire after two years.
